Job Description

The Collections and Processing Facility Manager oversees regulatory and quality outcomes for all adult and pediatric cell collection and processing procedures. Supports cellular therapy processes across the BMT Program and immune effector cell (IEC) service line development. Coordinates related clinical trial activities. Evaluates all cellular therapy service requests and is responsible for program readiness for new immunotherapies and INDs (Investigational New Drug). Assists the Program Quality Management Coordinator to assure compliance with all regulatory standards per FACT, FDA, CIBMTR, NMDP, AABB, CAP, CMS, TJC, etc. Leads continuous quality improvement in cell collection and processing departments. Responsible for equipment maintenance. Serves as primary designee for the Apheresis Facility Director and Stem Cell Laboratory Facility Director to progress the program’s strategic planning.

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline required. Graduate degree in healthcare-related field or cellular therapy preferred.  Active clinical or technical licensure as Medical Technologist (MT) required. Minimum of 3 years recent experience in cellular therapy with scholarly contributions in the cellular therapy field or 5 years’ experience with GMP laboratory guidelines and related accreditation standards required.  Graduate-level cellular therapy education and/or research may be substituted for experience. Demonstrates excellent communication, presentation, and planning skills. Effectively collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve quality outcomes.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: License in the State of Florida required. Active clinical or technical licensure as Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
