Job Opening Summary

 

The EVS Manager leads all operational coordination and staff supervision within the UF Health Shands system. Oversees the administrative functions of the department. This position ensures environmental services work is completed in accordance with existing expectations and policies, and with a specific focus on quality, safety, employee engagement and service. The manager conducts regular inspections and meets with members of other departments to ensure standards are maintained, while consistently seeking to improve customer, patient and employee satisfaction. The manager deals directly with any equipment malfunction, concerns or KPI deficiencies and develops a plan to address. The Manager will also provide budgetary input to the Director and assist with development of program goals and strategic initiatives for the Department.  This position will be responsible for timekeeping/payroll, recruitment interviews, employee relations, regulatory compliance/quality, nursing/patient rounds and performance evaluations for direct reports.

Job Opening Qualifications

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
AA degree and 3 years of supervisory experience in environmental services OR 5 years of supervisory experience in environmental services required. Experience in a healthcare setting strongly preferred.  Must have knowledge of health, safety and industry regulatory agencies.  Prior experience must demonstrate successful EVS operations leadership and a positive, customer service and employee-oriented attitude.  Must interface effectively with all members of the health care team to render exceptional service to patients, guests, and others. Prior experience must demonstrate the ability to respond to unexpected situations in a calm and productive manner, prioritizing the well-being of patients.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) credential preferred.
