Job Opening Summary

Responsibilities will include management of walk-in patients in the OrthoCare clinic. Specifics are as follows:

  • Clinic/Outpatient - Under the supervision of an attending physician, this position will provide diagnostic and therapeutic health care coverage for patients, which will include, but not be limited to, taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, coordinating lab tests and diagnostic studies, prescribing medications and providing assistance to the patient regarding a plan of treatment and education.
  • Finalist will be expected to work 9 four-hour-shifts in clinic and have four hours of administrative time weekly. Shifts are available Sunday-Friday 1PM-9PM and Saturday 10AM-2PM; Specific shifts will be determined by the successful finalist and the OCAH director.

Job Opening Qualifications

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nursing program.

Credentialing: Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as a Physician Assistant within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network, as applicable.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose

NOTE:  A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current and clear license (or eligible to be licensed) as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in the State of Florida.  BLS is required.
